Who we are…
Simple Beggars is a dynamic, “Americana” band rooted mainly in rock, blues, and classic country, but our sound is anything but conventional. Each of us brings our own unique musical influences to the table, from classic rock and old-school blues to country, folk, pop and funk, creating a style that’s truly our own. Blending both electric and acoustic guitars, bass, drums, two vocalists, and harmonica, these diverse elements converge into a cohesive, unique sound.
When we started this journey we were already a group of close friends, some of us knowing each other for over two decades, and that rich history is reflected in the chemistry on stage and in our performances. “Simple Beggars” was a product of the pandemic, and came to be in late 2020 when a local brewery owner invited some of our founding members to perform live for them and their patrons. The connection that night between us, and with the audience was undeniable. From that moment on, we knew we had something special.
What began as a simple, acoustic trio—just a couple of guitars and cajon—quickly grew into something much bigger. As we continued to play out, we expanded not only our setlist, but our lineup as well, eventually adding a full drum kit, electric guitar and a bass player. This evolution gave us the chance to explore new musical directions, drawing from each of our influences. Whether it’s a bluesy riff, a country twang, or a rock-driven groove, our music reflects the diverse tastes of each member, and makes Simple Beggars unlike many others out there.
